i'm really working not to gripe about picard, which sash and aers already did a pretty good job of on their blog. it's got a lot of star-trekky goodness in it, and you guys know i love me a good star trek.
msg was getting so down on the show a couple weeks ago, he thought he might even quit watching. and i couldn't argue with him ... all his reasons made way more sense than some of the things happening in that show!
but you know, my favorite star trek is the very first show, and honestly, you can't love that show without loving you some cheese. there are definitely cheese-free episodes that just overall rule, trekkingly ... but i wouldn't say they're the majority. mostly even the good episodes come with a pretty good helping of goofiness.
so i'm trying to get in that spirit with picard, and i'm trying to lure msg along with me into a better frame of mind about it.
partly it's because all the other star trek fans seem to be really showing me up on the positivity end of things. jeepers, they're loving this show! and when i go on twitter and everybody's just raving how good it is and i'm like, "well, you know, it's got all these dumb things in it that my boyfriend and girlfriends keep pointing out ..." i just feel like a big grouchy-pants and i have to delete the tweet before i send it.
so i'm going to be putting on my cheerleader outfit (i don't really have a cheerleader outfit) and trying to lead the positivity charge into tomorrow's episode when it comes on.
