chilly!

winter is here! well, central texas-style winter anyhow. it's been in the high thirties the last couple of nights, which is extra-blanket, double-up-your-socks-at-night weather for us here at worthy acres.

there's been some grey, there's been a pretty good amount of rain. it'd be pretty easy for the turn of the seasons to get some people down. (i won't name names, but it's msg.) only it was clear today, and the sun was out, and it felt actually kind of nice to be on the cold side, and even an unnamed gloomy-pants type (msg) had to admit ... things are good, winter or not.

we don't get all that many just-right temperature days around here. a whole lot of the year is either too cold (by which i mean, weather a northerner would really laugh at us for bundling up in) or too hot (by which i mean, the kind of weather humanity was forced to evolve a big enough brain to invent air-conditioning in order to deal with it). what that means is, if you wait for it to be the goldilocks zone around here in order to be happy with things, you're going to spend a lot of the time super unsatisfied.

cold has to be good, sometimes. hot too! you've got to be able to chillax whether it's sweaterville or sweatyville ... or else your chillaxing opportunities will be pretty few and far between.

i hope wherever you are, reader friends, it's the right kind of cold to be a good cold for you.

the kind you can be happy in!

xoxo,
claire
